EncodingType

Anyone know what the 'Default' encoding type is? UTF8??

I'm having issues with some of my CSS fonts on IE8 since I started using YUI.

The default encoding is the system Encoding.Default, which is entirely dependent on your setup:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.text.encoding.default(v=vs.110).aspx

You can specify your own encoding type if you prefer something different.

What issues are you having? Perhaps you can post a sample input and output and whatever you are using to call YUI?

@font-face {
font-family: 'icomoon';
src:url('fonts/icomoon.eot');
src:url('fonts/icomoon.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'),
url('fonts/icomoon.woff') format('woff'),
url('fonts/icomoon.ttf') format('truetype'),
url('fonts/icomoon.svg#icomoon') format('svg');
font-weight: normal;
font-style: normal;
}

Won't render in IE9 when using a singled compressed file. I've switched off compression on all files and its still won't render the fonts. Yet when I load the files individually on the page in the same order as YUI it works in IE 9. All other browsers work including IE8. So all YUI is doing now is concatenating all files into a single file unminified and it still won't work.

Sounds like an ie9 problem then if it works in all I other browsers and all other versions of IE.
Have you tried combining all the files yourself to see if it works and then comparing your combined file to YUI's combined file to see what the differences are?
